Me as an Educator

By

Before I begin sharing posts about various supports that may help you and your child, I wanted to introduce myself as an educator.

I’m currently in my 13th year in education. I began my journey as a 6th-grade science teacher and have since taught 7th and 8th grade as well. In my fifth year, I was honored with an award for excellence in teaching. Science is my thing—if you ever have questions about it, I’ve got you!

Over the years, I’ve also grown in supporting special populations—students with IEPs, English learners (EBs), 504 plans, and more. My goal has always been to make sure students are learning, feel included, and are prepared for what’s ahead.

Now, I serve as the Multilingual Specialist at my school. I work to ensure our English learners are properly identified and receiving the support they need. I also coach teachers and help them embed supports in their lessons to better serve all students, including those in special populations.

Little by little, I’ll be posting suggestions and resources. Please feel free to comment below with any questions. If I can help, I’ll definitely respond and go more in-depth!
